New kitchen sink.

One more project crossed off the to do list!
The kitchen sink.
I forgot to take a picture of the black acrylic sink that was in here...trust me, it was a scratched up mess!

The new one is porcelain, and large enough to bathe a baby in!
LOVE it!

Home Goods, and TJ Maxx carries the neat glass soap, and dish soap bottles that I really like.
The lavender dish soap is the best!

Hobby Lobby carries some nice decorative pieces, and I found the one we put on the front of the cupboard there.
I plan to fill in between the faux brick with mortar before warm weather.....next project on the to do list.
We are crossing things off the list as we go.
Hopefully we will be finished before warm weather is here to stay.
Have a great weekend!

A Gentle Thunder.

There are many reasons God saves you: to bring glory to Himself, to appease His justice, to demonstrate His sovereignty. But one of the sweetest reasons God saved you is because He is fond of you. He likes having you around. He thinks you are the best thing to come down the pike in quite a while....

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.  Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart...

Face it, friend, He's crazy about you.

(A Gentle Thunder by Max Lucado.)
I do not think it was coincidence that I picked up this book and turned to this page just before I started to write my post for today.
Someone needed to hear this. I truly believe that.
I haven't read this little book for a long time!  I cannot believe I would just happen to turn to the page that says March 10th, either.
For whoever He is speaking to....be blessed. I know I was when I read it.

Beauty Slumbers Beneath the Snow.

Aahhhh....that time in the morning when you are in between slumber, and waking....
Your mind is still swimming with the cloudiness of sleep, yet you faintly hear the outside world creeping in.
That's where I was this morning when I realized I heard the sweet sounds of song birds in the distant realm of reality.

I drew in a deep breath, causing my mind to clear.
Rolling over in bed, I opened the window...letting in the sound of the birds more clearly.
My heart filled with the joy that Creation brings.

The earth, and it's creatures are waking from their winter's slumber!

God always knows what I need, when I need it.
This taste of springtime encouragement is the boost I've been needing after the harsh winter we've been experiencing.
I know that the winds of winter will blow, and more snow will fall, but I am also assured that beauty slumbers beneath the snow. When the time is right...spring will come calling....waking the earth from it's deep sleep, and all of God's creation will awake with the sounds of the song birds.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Meet Woody.

This is Woody.
He's my munchkin cat.
I see by this photo that I should have cleaned his eyes before taking his picture.
Woody is a breed of cat with short legs...kind of like a dachshund dog.

Woody is not your normal feline.
He's about as agile as a moose!
When he runs, it sounds like a herd of first graders wearing flippers running across wood floors!
Jumping off anything is always a challenge with those short legs. He has no cushion as he lands, so it's like a bag of sand landing on the wood floor.

Woody tries to be a Ninja, but is more like Chris Farley from Saturday Night Live.....whaaaaaaa.
He looks more like a chubby little stump....but ya gotta luv him.
He's my goofy wiener cat.
There are those days when I wonder what I was thinking when I decided to bring him home with me....but then there are those days when he makes me laugh when he sits on his hind legs, like a prairie dog, and slaps the dogs in the face like he's boxing them.
Woody can be as cuddly as a kitten, and as obnoxious as a blister!
He's as soft as silk, and as gassy as the sulphur pits!
He's as cute as a bug, yet sheds like a shag carpet....but I love him.
I admit he should be medicated most of the time....but Woody means well, and makes me laugh a lot.
He's actually a pretty fun guy to have around.
He's a keeper.
