A Romantic Touch.

When I was a girl, my grandmother used to make these pillows.
I've always wanted one, but have not seen them for years.
Just in the past few months, they've been showing up on blogs, and online shops.

I ordered this gorgeous plush velvet pillow from Vintage Rose Collection.
I love it paired with the pretty throw from Shabbyfufu.
Both pieces lend a romantic touch to the room.
I like it!
Enjoy your weekend!

  2. I remember that pillow and even think I made one at one time. It is just perfect for your romantic touch. I love throw pillows and have way too many here, but I like to switch them around almost as much as I like moving furniture.

  5. Hi Debbie, my grandmother made these pillows too. I remember how my mother did the markings for her and then nana sewed them beautifully. I have a few in the square design to this day that I bring out in the fall because they are corduroy in a gold and burgundy color. She did rounds too and I wish I had a few of those but sadly don't.
I do have her original pattern packet from the 50 or 60's. One day I should give it a try.
Love yours in pink. So shabby and romantic for your pretty home.
Have a nice weekend. Blessings, cm

  7. Debbie,
Romantic and lush ... Ahhhh Velvet, textural joy. I remember the round velvet pillows andI have always loved them. Like in the old 40's period movies often seen adding personality. Yours is beautifully detailed. Thinking one might look pretty in my French inspired guest room on the chair.
Debbie your Pink is so pretty, enjoy the weekend.

  8. I don't believe it. I was looking on you tube for some ideas on table runners and came across a video on how to make this pillow. I saved it so one day to make one. Great minds think alike.

  11. Wow Debbie, that pretty pillow is gorgeous! I'll have to check out her site.
BTW, Hobby Lobby has fabric that matches your throw. I just had to grab a couple of yards to cover a round table in my booth.

  16. Janet the hopeless romantic, and her throw is no exception to the romance she shares. It looks great with the pillow, and YES! My grandmother had these same pillows in velvet and silk Iin her two guest rooms, so nostolgic, and by adding a bit of heirloom to a rooms space it tends to soften the harder edges of what it's in company with.

The throw debbie was a perfect choice for you, it blends beautifully with your angelic feel of wings.

A week ahead of you where all that you touch inspires your home and the new season.
